Meet the Characters

Patrick is a university student and as he comes home for his summer break, he discovers an old Chickasaw secret that ties back to the days of King Solomon’s Temple in Jerusalem. Patrick loves his family, history, and adventure.

Christine is an academic scholarship student from Germany and Patrick’s girlfriend. She is as beautiful as she is smart. She navigates a new culture in her relationship with Patrick. She has a keen interest in solving mysteries.

Pappy is Patrick’s maternal grandfather. He has lived his entire life on the land of his forefathers and he was taught the ways of the Chickasaw by an elderly Judge who was taught as a child by a Chickasaw medicine man who had never left the land during the Trail of Tears.

Chief Tanglefoot is a legendary Chickasaw warrior chief who fought the French in the 1700s. He was remembered by his village and warriors for what he did during the Battle of Ackia.

Mr. Stein is writer for a German magazine. He is very interested in Patrick and Patrick’s endearment for his forefather’s land. He is large, mysterious, and has that something about him that makes him look as if he is a villain that one would see in a Hollywood movie production.

Ongello is Christine’s college roommate. Her family has their roots in the Mississippi Delta. She has always lived in Mississippi and has a family oral history handed down from times before the Civil War.

Elvis Angel is an ETA (Elvis Tribute Artist.) Elvis has a unique ability to act as if he is the King of Rock ‘n Roll.

Private Charlie Hurt is young man from the past. He lived in the Hatchie Hills before being drafted to fight in World War II.

Daisy Bell Rutherford was in school with Charlie Hurt and she was the paternal grandmother of Patrick.

Clem Rutherford is Daisy Bell’s brother. He still lives near the land on which he was raised in the Hatchie Hills of Northeast Mississippi.
